Course Description

This course will address best practices when it comes to the prevention and remediation of dampness in basements. No longer the dark, damp and utilitarian space in a home, basements are incorporated into families’ living spaces, which require builders and renovators to ensure steps are taken to prevent/remediate water ingress and associated building health issues.

Key Learning Objectives:

  2. Prevention: Best practices when including a basement in a new home
  3. Remediation: Common issues and solutions to remediating damp basements
  4. Finding the right contractor/tradespeople: what to look for, expectations and expertise
