Course description

This course will focus on exterior insulation. Exterior insulation is becoming commonplace as a result of the implementation of R-22 Walls in the City of Vancouver, adoption of the Energy Step Code throughout BC, the growing popularity of low-energy building standards such as Passive House, and generally increasing wall thermal performance targets. These systems have the potential to durably provide high levels of thermal performance, but a number of considerations exist.

This presentation will discuss

  • Structural testing which was done to evaluate the performance of using long-fasteners through exterior insulation as a means of supporting strapping and cladding.
  • Constructability, thermal performance, and moisture durability considerations

Approved for 1.0 CPD Credits in Construction Technology (Group A)

Note: If you have already taken this course in person, repeating it online will not qualify for additional CPD points.

You have 90 days to complete this course starting from the enrolment date.
